Dr. Mera was raised in Bethlehem and worked at Wright Veterinary Medical Center as a student. She received her BS in Animal Bioscience from the Pennsylvania State University and her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Her first veterinary position was in Edison, New Jersey and then she came to WVMC.
Dr. Mera really enjoys internal medicine, endocrinology and dermatology. She works to make every patient’s experience as fear free as possible.
In her free time, Dr. Mera works to help feed food-insecure people in the area and also to provide pet food to the animal food banks and shelters. She also enjoys speaking to student groups about the careers available in veterinary medicine. She is also involved in providing books and reading opportunities to students at local schools.
Dr. Mera also enjoys traveling and learning about other parts of the world and meeting new people and also traveling to our amazing national parks.
She has had 3 Golden Retrievers and presently has 3 cats.
